The Opening Scene…
Welcome to Fictional Frames, the place where movies, TV shows, and storytelling get picked apart with passion (and way too much coffee).
Why this blog?
If you’re here, chances are you love stories : watching them, analyzing them, obsessing over why they work (or why they crash and burn).
I’ve been writing for years, mostly novels (yep, even published a few!), but recently, I threw myself into screenwriting. Just to see what would happen. Turns out, it’s a whole new beast. Fascinating, frustrating, addictive. One minute, I think I’ve cracked the code, the next, I’m questioning everything. So, instead of spiraling alone, I figured, why not share the chaos?
That’s how Fictional Frames was born. A space where I break things down, geek out over storytelling or characters, and document my journey as I figure this whole screenwriting thing out. Mistakes included.
What is Fictional Frames? A blog about cinema, storytelling, and screenwriting, featuring:
- Film & TV analyses → Why is Parasite a storytelling masterclass? How did The Dark Knight redefine the perfect villain? We’re going deep.
- Storytelling & writing techniques → Twists, character development, sharp dialogues… Everything that turns a decent idea into a damn good story.
- Quick reviews → Because sometimes, you just want to know if a movie is worth it without a 10-page essay.
- A screenwriter’s journal → My triumphs, my struggles, and all the messy in-between as I attempt my first screenplay—plus some advice for fellow chaotic learners.
Where to find me?
📌 Letterboxd → Same name, Fictional Frames, where I drop short reviews and current favorites.
📌 TikTok & Instagram (soon!) → Expect short-form content, fun anecdotes, and deep dives into film analysis.
So, if you love movies and screenwriting intrigues you, you’re in the right place. Grab a coffee (or some popcorn) and welcome to Fictional Frames!
